Confession: I actually never thought I would become a wedding photographer. I was convinced photography was always going to be a small, temporary side gig during high school & post secondary. I never expected to fall in love with it like I did.
I've always had a passion for art, but it's hard for me to stick with one medium. Photography and oil painting have stuck (hooray!) but pottery, crocheting, weaving, sewing, embroidery, watercolour, knitting, punch needling - you name it - haven't quite lasted. I'll get back to them eventually ;)
The point is... I love taking photos. And I especially love taking photos of people. I thrive on creative challenges, artistic limitations, and yes; a good deadline to keep me focused.
A client once told me I "embrace my creativity to the fullest capacity," and I was so honoured. Truly, that's the heart of what I do. I aim to bring my whole creative self to every session - to be present, to problem solve, and to connect with you in real time. It's challenging, invigorating and deeply fulfilling to play a small part in telling the stories that matter most.
When I’m not out shooting, you can usually find me and my husband hosting our favourite people, making speciality coffee, going on little adventures, or watching a mystery show or movie.
